Strategic Focus

We believe that a strong, active, democratic, open society will emerge through a mass media landscape with pluralism, diversity, openness and accountability and critical citizens’ society. Therefore, it is expected to create a media landscape and empower the citizens, based on the following key focus areas:

Development of Policy and Legal instruments and Institutional frameworks:

It analyses, reviews and develops media and communication related policies and articulates policy positions in response to emerging media issues. It works to develop a new and strengthen the existing legal and policy instruments and institutional frameworks to make media policy and media development more effective and productive.

Awareness and Advocacy:

To create awareness in media industry and citizens about editorial independence, media pluralism, media diversity, media accountability, media openness, right to information, media and cyber literacy and mobilize them to achieve those ideals.

Citizens- based Partnerships:

Mobilizing, training and facilitating citizens for the establishment of Public Service Media and Community Radio and Television stations.
